Working from
Home III -
As a writer I must
explain that each article should
contain
certain sections and components. Sure some areas will carry more
relevant information than others it should still give the reader the
desire to want to know more. Therefore each section you write should
have relevant information with an easy flow. Now if you want the
article to give you more traffic you have to pay attention to your
keywords. What are key
words? I will get into that section in another
article of this information. Suffice it to say if your article is
written well then you shall get the traffic. Basically an article
should have the following components:
1.
Title
2.
Keywords
3.
Summary
4.
Body
5.
Resource
Box
I will get
into
more details about each one of these sections in
another article but for today here is a general understanding of how
they work.
- Check
your submission: Your expertise and
credibility in
the article you are submitting will not hold any water if you don't
know what the heck you are discussing. Therefore spelling, grammatical,
concise with easy flow will give you the credibility then you have to
make sure it reads well. I always read it aloud. Basically read the
article and make sure it reads well. Believe it or not I catch a lot of
mistakes when I read out loud.
- Who is your Audience?
For example what
language will
your audience understand? If they are in the medical field then use
language they are familiar with. Terminology and language that they
know will give you more credibility than using laymen's terms. It would
go with articles written about technical matters or SEO content. Keep
them familiar to your audience.
- Never
give away the whole pie: Basically do what I
do, give
them enough information in order to entice them to clicking onto your
resource box. That is where you can actually quantify your readers. If
they want to know more then use the (<!--more-->)
tags used in
most web blogs. This is very common in word press.
- Have clear concise
thoughts: An article
with
500
words will
keep the reader's interest better than a 1000 word article. Remember
people this is the age of Instant Gratification. I am not saying you
don't have 1000 worth of words to write about but that is where you
will get the interest. Give them bullets if necessary just enough to
know you got the message and are going to give them the answers. Working from home is not an easy
task. You have to manage your time well, including knowing when to
stop working.
