Working as a Freelance Writer: Summary of an Article-

Lets begin with the basics here. The summary of your article is like dangling a carrot for your reader, potential client. Basically get to the point, don't go blabbing about innate stuff. You have to entice your audience to want to know more. It's almost like grabbing them by the shirt collar and making them click on the more tag in your article. Okay maybe not so harsh but you get the point. Remember you are writing in order to get more clicks for your website and this should be an ongoing goal for your online marketing.

The Summary Do's of your article:

Length of your article should e no more than 3 to 7 sentences long. I would even advise it to be a bit shorter than 7 like maybe 5.

Grab their emotions. They are apparently there reading for a reason right? Play with that. Show them how you can make their "pain" stop by reading on.

Reader Scope or target; who are they? Apparently there is a reason why they are there. Speak their language.

SEO Keywords. The Elephant in the room. I cannot stress enough how important this one point should be. Don't even start typing unless you know what your keywords are. Basically either know what they are and use them or download keyword search software. Use them sparingly with flow. My suggestion is at least 3 to 5 times in the article.
Summary Don'ts of your article:

Pushing your business.
No email or url's.
Repetition of your title.
In their face promotion.
Repetition of the author.
Summary that result in boring paragraphs.

In conclusion these are some points to keep in mind when writing the summary of an article. Writing an SEO article is not as easy as people may think. Are you writing for the human or are you writing for the search engine. Now that's the million dollar question.
