Keywords, Meta tag descriptions and
top ranking-
Keywords,
meta tag descriptions and top ranking
optimization tutorial is what it's all about. I am giving the love
away… Can you feel it? No okay then lets get down to work. I am sure
you have wondered why some pages are higher rankings than others right?
I am sure you have especially if you are in this business. As well as I
am sure you have heard and seen 100 ways to do it and you are still
wondering why it's not working for you. Or you see a minimal change in
your traffic.
Well you are not alone I have been there
seen that and done it. Read on
and you will see what it takes then wonder hey why didn't I think of
that. It's so obvious it will make a grown man cry. Well maybe not, but
you will feel better.
The
10 rules or commandment you
should use to SEO your pages for keywords and Meta tag description.
Rule #1 Lets say you
already have your page created, so lets be clear this is not a tutorial
on your web but, a guide for SEO
using meta keywords along with description tags.
First of the entire page you
are creating or I should say the type
would determine you keyword density. Example would be if this were a
sales page then no more than 1500 top 2000. This is where you describe
the advantages of the service you are providing along with the
solution. Testimonials are a great-added feature so place them
appropriately. You could go as far as telling a story of how a client
had "pain" in their sales effort and how it was solved by using your
service. Again don't blabber get to the point and make it interesting.
Your product page will be
different than your sales page. This should
be 500 words and no more than 700. On this page what you are trying to
accomplish is selling
your product. If your user gets to this page then
you know they want specifics. Therefore the job is convincing the user
that what your product will take the pain away.
Your article page word count
ought to be at least 1000 words and no
more than 4000. Some will argue that it's too long but you already have
your reader so give them some meat to the subject. And if you are an
excellent content writer then you can do it in less.
Rule #2 Your Meta keyword
should match your file name period. The search engines will match up
your keywords with the page and give the page a higher relevancy spot.
For example from: Editor copywriter the first one on Google is a site
with that name and the URL has that name. So try to choose your URL
name wisely and make sure your Meta keyword reflects the name of your
URL.
Rule #3 Do not use more
than 5 keywords in your Meta tag. If you use more than that then
Google
will think you are spamming therefore you will kicked to the curb.
Search engines rank the keywords from the order that they will appear.
Basically the first word becomes the primary keyword then the second is
a secondary keyword etc. You should line your keywords up in the order
of relevance to the page. The Meta keyword tag used in my above example
is.
"

copywriter editor
Jobs - powered by Monster "
Rule #4 Make sure
you use
all the keywords in your Meta description, with the primary keyword as
close to the front as possible. Remember the Search engine will not
read your stuff verbatim, however it will match the keywords in your
description. No repetition here if you.
Rule #5 Your Meta
description ought to be around 100 to 200 characters. Make sure you
have a good description to your page. If you use less than the search
engine won't finds you and if you use more than 200 then the Search
engine will not look at you. Besides you won't look very professional.
Rule #6 When you are
setting up your Meta tags do it so it looks like a sentence. Search
engines don't read it like this but when people use the search engine
that is how they do it. Very rare or I should say more often than not
people will do a search with a sentence.
Rule #7 Read your content
at least 3 times. From spelling, to grammar, along with placement and
lastly your paragraph distribution. Once you are confident with your
page proof read it again and focus on you keyword placement including
repetition. You want your keywords placed in your content sparingly.
One last tip read your content aloud. Amazingly when a person reads
their content silently they won't catch spelling errors or the flow may
not be right. But if you read it aloud then you can see where
punctuation's go easier.
Rule #8 Place your Meta
description in one line for your html code. Some search engines
will miss the second line I have seen it happen.
Rule #9 You know I am all
about doing what is right but in respect to keywords do not use more
than 3 keywords. Most users rarely search fro more than 3 keywords at a
time. Therefore try to use the main keywords
Rule #10 Use your primary
keyword in the first and last paragraph of your page. The search
engines will give more relevancies to your page if they find your
keywords at the beginning and the end of your page.
Extra Kudos
for you – make sure you use the primary keyword in a text link
format in your page. But only do it once not twice. Another thing get a
bookmark widget on your page your visitors will like that it helps them
remember where you are. And make sure you keep them on your site.
In conclusion use what I have
said to increase
your page rank. And keep
in mind use your keywords wisely and make sure when you discuss Keywords, meta tag descriptions
and top ranking optimization that you
use it as I have once in your first paragraph and once in the end. As I
have done here.
